Congratulations to the 2023
Ross Granger Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Claire Broussard is a senior at Kaplan High School. She is a member of the state champion Lady PIrate softball team, and is a UCA and SCA all-American cheerleader. As a Beta club member, she has participated in quiz bowl and group talent competitions. She is a member of the Kaplan High School student council and 4-H clubs as well. Claire represented Kaplan High School at Louisiana Girls State. She will be attending McNeese State University to pursue a degree in biological sciences, after which she plans to enter the medical field.

From Port Barre High School, Lenzie Buller has been involved as a class officer, and holds offices in FFA and FBLA as well. Lenzie is a member of the Beta club, National honor society and Phi Theta Kappa. She is an all-state composite honoree in volleyball, basketball, and track. She is an outstanding track athlete who holds district titles in the 800m, 300m hurdles, and triple jump. Lenzie plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in kinesiology. She then plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy.

Erath HIgh School senior, Avery-Grace Hebert, serves as a local and state officer in the Beta club, and is a four-year student council member at EHS. As a four-year member of the EHS Extreme dance team, she has twice been recognized as a UDA all-American dancer. A member and captain of the swim team at EHS, she has held both district and state titles. She is also a four-year member of the soccer and track teams. and is an academic all-state recipient. Avery-Gace has been a volunteer for Miles Perret Cancer Services, COLA Swim, and our Lady of Lourdes summer religion programs. She will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in nursing.

Lafayette High School senior Grayson Saunier is a parishioner and volunteer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milton, and a part of the Young Life ministry team. He is a student in the gifted and talented program at Lafayette High. While in high school, Grayson has served as captain of both the football and baseball teams, earning academic all-state honors. He is a school tutor and a peer support leader for special education students, and a member of the Math, chess, and E-sports clubs.

Also from Erath High School, Nathan Touchet is a Carson Scholar, a Taylors Scholar award winner, district and state rally team member, Beta Club member and student council leader. Captain of the football team, he has earned all-parish, all-district, and all-metro recognition, as well as both the Iron Cat and Power Cat awards. He is a Wendy's High School Heisman award winner. Nate has earned all-district honors as a soccer player and track team member. In addition, he has been a Boys State delegate and a member of the Vermilion Parish Superintendent’s Leadership Council. Nathan will continue his education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to earn a degree in nursing.
