Ross Granger Memorial Scholarship Recipients
From Erath High School, Ross Delcambre is a member of the cross country and track teams, as well as the marching band. He is a member of the Beta club, and has been on the academic rally team throughout high school. An altar server for 9 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Ross is also a member of the Ignite team. He has been honored with the 2020 cross country and track academic all-state awards. Ross plans to pursue a degree as a chemical engineer.
Andrew Lege is a senior at Vermilion Catholic High School who was recognized as student of the year. He was captain of the varsity football team and received the St. Michael’s college leadership award. He received academic all-state honors in both football and basketball. “Drew” is a member of Beta and national Honor Society. He holds numerous school records and various titles in football, basketball, and baseball. He will be attending Ave Maria University in southwest Florida in the fall of 2021, continuing his football career and majoring in biochemistry. He plans to become a doctor of radiology.
Also from Vermilion Catholic is Joshua Listi. Joshua has achieved the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout, which has given him various opportunities to serve the community, including the Christian Service Center. He is an altar server, a member of the Kairos retreat team and the Faith in Action Team. Joshua is also a member of Beta, National Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars. He participates in football, track, powerlifting, and soccer and has received athletic honors as well. Joshua plans to attend LSU and major in biology to one day become a doctor.
Abigail Lopez is a North Vermilion senior class member who serves as president of the Student Council. She also holds offices in Beta, National Honor Society and is a member of various other student organizations. Throughout high school, she has been a member of the volleyball, basketball, softball and track and field teams, earning numerous accomplishments. She is a church volunteer and a member of Fellowship of Student Athletes. After graduation, Abigail will attend McNeese State University to major in health and human performance.
Lafayette High School senior Alexander Saunier is a parishioner and volunteer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milton. He is a student in the gifted and talented program at Lafayette High. While in high school, Alexander has served as captain of both the football and baseball teams, earning academic all-state honors. He is a school tutor and a peer support leader for special education students. Alexander will attend LSU-Eunice, where he will continue to play baseball. He hopes to then move on to a D1 university to complete a degree in biochemistry, after which he would like to attend medial school.
